HOW TO
THRIVE WITH
TYPE 1

We're creating a video series that merges the real-life stories of Type 1 celebrities with vital care information for newly diagnosed patients and their families.

"I have been looking for good videos for 20 years plus" -
Dr. Anne Peters MD, Director of the USC Clinical Diabetes Programs and internationally-recognized scholar on the treatment of type 1.

"The only thing I wish is that we could make these videos sooner" -
Dr. Michael Hughes MD, Endocrinologist and Scholar at Stanford Medicine specializing in new-device development (T1 since 2007).

The Break-Down

FORMAT

Concise, witty, and narrative-driven, our videos focus on interviews with celebrities, athletes, and influential figures living with Type 1. Through the power of storytelling, we bring into focus the many new challenges introduced after diagnosis and the extraordinary ways people with Type 1 Thrive beyond them.

DISTRIBUTION

Social media have brought the Type 1 Community together and closer like never before. By partnering with established Organizations, our videos are free and widely accessible.

TOPICS

  • Diagnosis and initial adjustment: Breaking the news to friends, family, and peers

  • Returning to school or work

  • Sports & physical activities

  • Family gatherings, holidays, and nights away from home

  • Vacations & Travel

  • Support, advocacy, and the Type 1 Community
